Specialist care for endocrine health
Dr Shailja Tewari is a Consultant Endocrinologist and Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians. She completed her basic physician training at Concord Repatriation General Hospital before undertaking advanced training in Endocrinology across several major tertiary hospitals, including Royal Prince Alfred Hospital, Prince of Wales Hospital, Bankstown-Lidcombe Hospital and Concord Hospital.
Dr Tewari is a Senior Staff Specialist at Canterbury Hospital and an Honorary Visiting Medical Officer at Concord Hospital. She also consults privately at Southern Doctors Clinic, as well as at her other consulting rooms in Wahroonga and Rozelle.
She has extensive experience in the management of both Type 1 and Type 2 diabetes, with a particular interest in diabetes during pregnancy. At Canterbury Hospital, she leads a multidisciplinary service supporting pregnant women with endocrine conditions, including gestational diabetes and pre-existing diabetes.
Dr Tewari also provides care for a broad range of endocrine conditions, including thyroid, parathyroid, pituitary and adrenal disorders, osteoporosis, hypogonadism and polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS).
She is committed to providing personalised, evidence-based care and works closely with her patients to support their individual health needs.
