Southern Doctors Clinic is proud to partner with Australian Clinical Labs to provide pathology collection services within our practice. Having pathology available on-site makes it easier to complete tests requested by your GP or specialist without needing to travel elsewhere.

Bring your pathology referral form with you. The Clinical Labs pathology team will review your request and let you know if any preparation is required.

Our on-site Clinical Labs collection centre can perform a wide range of routine and specialised pathology tests requested by your doctor.

Blood Tests

Routine and specialised blood tests requested by your GP or specialist.

Urine & Stool Tests

Collection and testing of urine and stool samples where required.

Antenatal & Pregnancy Testing

Pathology testing requested as part of pregnancy and antenatal care.

Chronic Disease Monitoring

Pathology monitoring for conditions such as diabetes, thyroid disorders and cholesterol.

Do I Need an Appointment?

For most routine pathology collections, you do not need to make an appointment. Simply attend during the collection hours with your pathology referral form.

For routine tests Walk in during the pathology collection hours. No appointment is generally required.
Bring your referral Bring the pathology request form provided by your GP or specialist.
Specialised tests Some tests may require specific preparation or fasting. Your doctor will let you know if this applies.

Please attend during the following times for pathology collection. Hours may vary during holiday periods.

Monday 9am – 12pm
Tuesday 9am – 12pm
Wednesday Closed
Thursday 9am – 12pm
Friday 9am – 12pm

Pathology Fees & Billing

Clinical Labs provides bulk billing for most Medicare-eligible pathology tests. Please bring your Medicare card and any relevant concession cards with you.

Could there be a fee?

Some tests may not be covered by Medicare. If an out-of-pocket fee applies, the pathology team will advise you before proceeding.

What Happens to My Results?

Your pathology results are sent to the doctor who requested your tests. Results commonly take around 2–5 business days, although some tests may take longer.

Your doctor reviews your results Your GP or specialist will review the results once they are received.
Follow-up may be required If your doctor needs to discuss your results with you, you may be asked to book a follow-up appointment.
