45-49 Health Assessment
If you're 45 to 49 years old and at risk of developing a chronic disease, you are eligible for a fully bulk-billed, once-only health assessment under Medicare at Southern Doctors Clinic, Campsie. This proactive check helps uncover early signs of conditions like diabetes, heart disease, or high blood pressure to support a healthier future.
What does the assessment include?
Your comprehensive assessment may involve:
Measurement of blood pressure, heart rate, weight, height, blood sugar, and cholesterol
Review of lifestyle factors—diet, physical activity, smoking, alcohol use, sleep, and stress
Check of immunisation status and overall fitness
Discussion of medications and any ongoing health concerns
Identification of early risk signs for chronic conditions like diabetes, heart disease, or kidney issues
Your GP will go through the results with you and offer customised health advice and recommendations
How often can I have it done?
This Medicare-funded health assessment is available once only for eligible patients aged 45–49 who meet risk criteria.
Is there a cost?
No. If you have a valid Medicare card and meet the criteria, the 45–49 Health Assessment is bulk-billed, meaning no out-of-pocket cost for you.
What happens after the assessment?
Following your check, your GP will provide:
A written report summarising findings and suggestions
A personalised care plan, including referrals if needed
Follow-up arrangements to monitor your health and support any care needs
